This will be a sprint distance biathlon to be held on Sunday 8/22 at 7:00am. It will consist of a 700m swim, a 5k OR 10k run, and will be followed by a 16 mile group ride bike ride. ALL are welcome to race in this annual charity event.

Swim: the swim course is a 700m course in the beautiful clear waters of the Waikiki Beach area of Queens beach of Honolulu. A map is available here. The course is a rectangle with one meter high buoys at the turns. At the end of the loop there is a short beach run before swimmers enter into the transition area in Kapolani Park.

Expected swim conditions: Warm, flat water. Any significant swell, surf or chop is unlikely.

Bike: THIS HAS BEEN UPDATED! We will be having a group ride on the same course immediately following the biathlon and awards ceremony. Triathletes yearning for wide open spaces will like this bike course. A map is available here. Waikiki's roads are new and wide. Plans call for 1 lane to be available to the race on most of the roads. Traffic will be closely restricted and monitored. Also, there will be and out and back course to Kahala on Kalakua ave., diamond head road, and kahala rd.There will be a sectioned and guarded athlete only bike area where you will  be able to store your bikes during the biathlon (same as a triathlon event)

The roads are flat and wide with the exception of a gentle 2K climb up to Diamond Head Crater Park are the exceptions.

Run: The run course is pancake flat with stunning view of the honolulu harbor and waikiki coastline and will around the surrounding areas of Kapolani Park. A map is available here. It will be a distance of 5k OR 10k (you will be able to sign up for either a 5k run or 10k when you do your packet pick upon 7/21 between 10a-6p)  It is expected to be a beautiful run for the athlete.
